We have had several customers interested in deploying Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 for use with Microsoft Dynamics SL.
Per the System Requirements for Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 FP1, Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 x64 is supported. For the x32 platform R2 is not listed as supported. This may have been an oversight by Microsoft or an expectation that a x32 version of Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 would not be released.
If you plan to upgrade to Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 be sure to reference the system requirements documentation for the version of Microsoft Dynamics SL that your organization is running. It is always best to reference this information via Customer Source to insure you have the most up to date documentation.
