At Convergence 2011 Microsoft announced plans to move all of their ERP solutions to Windows Azure. As Convergence 2012 approaches ZDNet has released an interesting article on Microsoft’s plans to bring their Dynamics ERP solutions to the cloud. I highly recommend reading the full article but for those on the fast track here are some key bullet points.
- All Dynamics products will continue with a client version as well as a Windows Azure version.
- Updates will be released to the Windows Azure version first and then to the client version at a later date.
- Major updates will come twice a year (this may be for CRM only).
- Windows Azure based Dynamics ERP systems will have exclusive integration with other Azure products.
